TRAVEL CONSULTANT
PART-TIME EMPLOYED

Are you an experienced Travel Consultant in the Midlands area? Have you worked within travel for at least 3 years, but would now like to do a few less hours or get some of your weekends back? Maybe you’d like the flexibility to work from home? Then this new opportunity with OUT of this WORLD Travel might be perfect for you.

Awarded UK & Ireland Travel Agent of the Year at The Travel Industry Awards by TTG Media 2023, we’re looking for an experienced Travel Consultant to join our expanding team on a part-time basis.

Not forgetting the opportunity to attend industry and supplier events for education and networking purposes, both online and in-person.

You’ll be an ambitious, dynamic and charismatic individual who is self-motivated and driven to achieve the very best, ensuring a real WOW experience for all who come into contact with you. Someone who truly understands the value of long-standing relationships to ensure repeat custom. You’ll have the ability to clearly demonstrate: sales successes; how you’ve effectively converted enquiries with your amazing listening, questioning, probing nature; and outside-of-the-box thinking.

You will have excellent product knowledge, questioning and listening skills to help our customers plan, choose and successfully book their holidays. Working as part of a team you will drive business through social media, events and maintaining relationships with existing customers.

Experience with selling long haul, mid-luxury travel is advantageous.

You’ll be used to the seasonal trends within the travel industry, working constantly to source new leads and working with warm leads provided to you.

THIS IS AN EMPLOYED / SALARIED ROLE

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers.

  • To create new revenue streams and sales for the business through new lead generation; you’ll be experienced at sourcing leads.

  • Use social media to promote offers, generating customer engagement and sales leads.

  • Participating in promotional events and activities to increase exposure of the business.

  • Achieving individual and team sales targets

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers.

  • Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the business, including liaising with customers about changes and making necessary amendments.

  • Effectively performing administrative duties and follow processes accurately.

  • Willingness to participate and deliver training appropriate to own development.


YOUR COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to work towards individual Travel Consultant targets and team sales targets

  • Excellent communication skills and customer service experience

  • An ability to generate leads and managing them effectively through to conversion.

  • Good at detail, including spelling & numeracy etc, ensuring accuracy of data on the systems.

  • Good time management and organisational skills.

  • Proficient in using IT systems, software and social media platforms.

  • Ability to be successful in an agile environment, to be flexible in style and approach; to pivot easily when required.

  • Good accuracy and numerical skills

  • Enthusiasm and positive attitude with a commitment to contribute to the growth of the business


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Travel Consultant

  • A proven sales record

  • Excellent travel product knowledge with a good working knowledge of tour operator systems

  • Good sales and presentation skills

  • Good organisational and time-management skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Genuine interest and first-hand experience in long-haul destinations


MORE INFORMATION

  • Salary (available upon request) + a generous commission scheme

  • 20 hours per week + opportunity for overtime subject to business needs

  • 28 days annual leave, including 8 bank holidays

  • This is an employed & salaried home-based role with the expectation you will attend regular meetings in the Solihull area
